Roasted wood, perfectly reproduced – without any smell whatsoever.
Inspired by Japanese craftsmanship. Newly interpreted for modern architecture.
The HeavyRoll Pompeii HR-08 takes its aesthetic cues from traditionally fired wood surfaces, inspired by the centuries-old Japanese technique of Yakisugi.
The distinctive charred structure with its deep, natural texture is translated into a flexible, mineral surface.
The result looks like real, burnt wood – but without the smell, the ash and the limitations of massive materials.
Instead, you get a lightweight, thin, and rollable surface that opens up new creative freedom for walls, furniture, and architectural elements.
The material is delivered in generous roll formats of approx. 3000 × 950 mm with a thickness of only approx. 2–4 mm.
A play of depth, structure and light – for rooms with character and atmosphere.
The Yakisugi look is deceptively realistic – without the smell of charred wood and without any soot. Ideal for wall surfaces, counters and furniture with a warm, dark character.
How sturdy is HeavyRoll? We hang a track with only two nails and attach a full water bucket at the bottom – the track holds without tearing.
During the test, a HeavyRoll track is heated for minutes with a gas burner: The mineral surface does not burn, it only glows and retains its shape. Euroclass A2 according to EN 13501-1 (A2-s2,d0) – the second highest fire protection class, no burning spattering.
