Room with wall in Concrete Art ANTIQUE WOOD

Wood Effect Wall Cladding – a Wood Wall Without Wood

No tree felled: a wood look made from recycled Carrara marble – hardly distinguishable from real wood, Euroclass A2 fire rating, in large sheets only 2–4 mm thin.

A Wood Wall Without Felling a Tree – the Sustainable Alternative to Wood Wall Panels

A wooden wall brings warmth to any room – but not a single tree is felled for our wood effect. The surfaces are made from recycled Carrara marble and are hardly distinguishable from real wood. This creates a beautiful wooden wall for your home, hotel or restaurant, without cutting down forests in the process.

For ANTIQUE WOOD, we take moulds of real reclaimed wood: from beams of historic houses in Canada and from old railway sleepers – some more than 100 years old. Every grain, every crack and every sign of wear of the old wood is faithfully reproduced – in marble instead of wood.

Unlike real wood, our HeavyRoll and Concrete Art wood looks achieve Euroclass A2 to EN 13501-1 (A2-s2,d0) – the second-highest fire class, no flaming droplets. Certified. This makes the wood wall suitable wherever fire safety matters: in hotels, restaurants, gyms, shops, exhibition stands and public buildings.

Instead of many individual wood panels, you clad the wall with sheets of around 3 × 1 m, only 2–4 mm thin, fixed to a load-bearing, flat substrate – on columns, counters and curved walls too. The wood looks of our collection Concrete Art are supplied on rolls and handmade in Italy – from around 60% recycled Carrara marble. Find out more on our page Sustainability.

FAQ – Wood Effect Wall Cladding

Is the wall cladding made of real wood?
No – and that is exactly its advantage. The surfaces are made of recycled Carrara marble and look like wood. No tree is cut down for your wooden wall.

Is the wood look suitable for public buildings and commercial premises?
Yes. Unlike real wood, HeavyRoll and Concrete Art achieve Euroclass A2 to EN 13501-1 (A2-s2,d0) – the second-highest fire class, no flaming droplets – and come with a certificate. That is why the wood look is popular in hotels, restaurants, gyms, shops, exhibition stands and public buildings.

How is the ANTIQUE WOOD look created?
We take moulds of real reclaimed wood: from beams of historic houses in Canada and from old railway sleepers, some more than 100 years old. Grain, cracks and signs of wear are faithfully reproduced.

Is the wood look an alternative to wooden wall panels?
Yes. Instead of many individual wall panels, you clad the wall with large sheets of approx. 3,000 × 950–1,000 mm – with very few joints.

Where can I use the wood wall?
In the living room and bedroom, in the bathroom and in the kitchen, in hotels and in Restaurant Design, in the Shop Fitting and Exhibition Stands – and outdoors too.

How is the wall cladding delivered and installed?
On rolls: the sheets arrive on site rolled up and are fixed with standard tile adhesive onto a load-bearing, flat and even substrate – even directly over old tiles, with no chiselling, dust or rubble. They are flexible and can also be used on columns and curved walls .

How sustainable is the wood look?
Very: no tree felled, around 60% recycled Carrara marble, handmade in Italy and light rolls instead of heavy panels in transport. More on our page Sustainability.

Can I get samples?
Sure. Get in touch – you will receive samples of the wood looks and a quote. References can be found under Projects.
